Product Designer
Seattle, WA | Nashville, TN
About Glue
Glue is redefining test automation, leveraging AI to simplify the automation scripting process and accelerate product realization. As an early member of our team, you’ll play a pivotal role in shaping Glue Studio, our flagship product. We operate at hyperspeed, blending deep technical expertise with bold product thinking.
The Role
We are looking for a Product Designer to be the first design hire at Glue—laying the foundation for how design operates in our company and setting the bar for user experience, systems thinking, and interaction design. You will collaborate closely with engineering and product management in a true product triad model (as defined by SVPG’s Product Operating Model). You will lead design efforts hands-on while also shaping the future of design at Glue as we scale.
This role requires a strong systems thinker who thrives in ambiguity, is comfortable working with cutting-edge AI-driven automation tools, and is eager to design intuitive experiences for complex workflows. You don’t need prior experience in test automation, but you should be quick to adapt to technical domains.
What You’ll Do
Own the end-to-end product design process—from research and wireframing to high-fidelity UI and interaction design.
Define and implement a design system that scales with our product.
Work directly with customers to understand their pain points and translate insights into elegant, user-friendly solutions.
Collaborate closely with engineering and product management as part of an empowered product team (not just taking requirements).
Design workflows for technical users, ensuring AI-powered automation feels intuitive, transparent, and empowering.
Set the foundation for Glue’s design culture, influencing hiring, design principles, and cross-functional collaboration.
Who You Are
A systems thinker—you see beyond screens and interactions, designing for scale and long-term impact.
A self-starter who thrives in ambiguity—you don’t wait for instructions; you experiment, iterate, and push for what’s best for the user.
A strong collaborator—you work well with engineers, PMs, and customers, leading discussions with curiosity and conviction.
A future design leader—you may not have been a lead before, but you have the mindset, ambition, and drive to grow into that role.
A builder—you want to be part of something from the ground up, shaping not just products but also company culture and processes.
What You Bring
3+ years of experience in product design, UX/UI, or interaction design.
Experience designing complex workflows, preferably for technical users or power users.
Proficiency in modern design tools (e.g., Figma, Framer).
Strong portfolio showcasing systems thinking, high-quality UI, and customer-centered design.
Ability to navigate ambiguity and turn incomplete information into actionable insights.
Location & Compensation
Preferred locations: Seattle, WA or Nashville, TN. Also open to Austin, TX.
Competitive salary + equity—this role is among our first 10 employees, and we believe in rewarding foundational team members with meaningful ownership.
Competitive benefits: join a team that cares about each other and our customers.
401(k) matching
Flexible time off with minimum vacation standards
Great healthcare benefits
